About

“I like to travel and find new landscapes and environments to experience. New places are a source of inspiration for my artistic output. I spent many years in Scandinavia, where the landscape has left a lasting impression. I’m currently in Nordfriesland, Germany working on a series of works which are inspired by the North Sea and the houses on the Köge. I don’t work from photos or sketches. The environment and landscape that surround everyday gazes, past and present, works its way out through a painting process. My paintings start out as abstract marks and colours, but as things appear I help it towards figuration. The figuration elements in my work are informed by thoughts, observations and intrigue for the immediate environment.”
